Shades Of Fall Wedding

Trang Nguyen (Bride) PORTLAND, OR
This is my 3rd order with Fiftyflowers, and unfortunately, we had a few hiccups with delayed shipping and damaged products due to hurricane Irma. Overall, however, the service and communication were excellent, and my flowers were beautiful. My wedding was in mid-September, and I wanted fall colors (shades of red, orange, gold/brown) for warmth, earthiness, and richness in my wedding album. The Aranthera Orchids and Cymbidium Orchids took the spotlight: they were stunning, exotic and so plenty that I was able to use them in most, if not all of my arrangements and still had a few stems left at home. My guests loved the centerpieces, and I had to give them out as wedding favors to best friends and ... close family members who could not get enough of them (I personally planned to gather all the centerpiece flowers into one big arrangement after the wedding, but oh well! Gotta make your guests happy). As for the packs that suffered damage or could not arrive due to the hurricane, I had to replace them with locally bought flowers; however, I believe they would have made wonderful arrangements if given the chance. My only complaint is the Italian Ruscus that was not affected by the hurricane, arrived on time, but still managed to shed most of its leaves and berries all over my house. I have been asked by at least 2 friends to DIY a part of their wedding flowers, so I definitely will be placing a few more orders in the near future. Show more

Flowers Used for Trang Nguyen's Arrangements

Beautiful 50 Rose Wedding Pack ( Wedding Combo Box )

Used for: Bridal Bouquet, Bridesmaid's Bouquets , Other

The roses were study and vibrant shortly after drinking. The greenery was lush and full. Basic pack, but beautiful nonetheless.

Used for: Other

I was very disappointed with this greenery because they shed so much, I was left with more stalks than leaves. There was no mention of berries on Fiftyflowers' website, but these stems arrived with small berries that resembled hypericum, except that they shed at the slightest touch! I think I spent more time sweeping the leaves and berries of this greenery than I did cleaning up other florals' wastes. I could barely use them due to the poor foliage I was left with.

Used for: Centerpieces , Bridal Bouquet, Boutonnieres

They did not have orange cymbidium, so I ended up substituting it with brown/goldren cymbidium, but it turned out to be a wonderful choice. The color paired so well with the dark red aranthera among other brighter red and orange flowers that I also used, which gave my bridal bouquet a lot of depth. A very sturdy flower! I used one in a boutonniere, and it kept the color and perkiness over 24 hours with minimal water in a thin cotton pad that wrapped around its stem.

Used for: Centerpieces , Bridal Bouquet, Boutonnieres

Beautiful, plenty, and so very textured! I used most of these orchid stems in my centerpieces. They lasted for at least 2 weeks after the wedding.

Papier Mache Textured Filler Pack ( Medium Textured Filler Pack )

Used for: Centerpieces , Bridal Bouquet, Bridesmaid's Bouquets , Boutonnieres, Other

Due to hurricane Irma, this pack arrived one day late and was slightly squished at the corners. I could not salvage the daisy stems: despite trimming and water, they would not perk up and all turned brown by the evening. I was able to use about 60% of the dusty miller and green tricks, which looked beautiful in arrangements. The limonium and blue thistle were holding up strong and recovered very quickly after unpackaging. Overall, I believe this pack would have made excellent fillers if it had not been delayed and damaged by the hurricane.

Whimsical Garden Rose Sample Pack ( Whimsical Sample Pack )

Unfortunately, I never got to see these lovely garden roses due to shipping delays during hurricane Irma. FiftyFlowers was very happy to substitute these with white ranunculus

The ranunculus arrived small, bruised, flimsy and unusable in any arrangement. Just my luck.
