Romantic Redwood Wedding

Brittney Fraumeni (Bride) WOODSIDE, CA
Our wedding day was the best day ever. We had perfect weather, amazing food, family and friends supporting us, an intimate ceremony, and a total party of a reception. I'm obsessed with so many details from our day, and our flowers are no exception. I have always loved flowers, so I knew they would definitely be a key feature on our wedding day. However, after getting estimates around $6.000, I knew we would have to find an alternative to a florist. I found FiftyFlowers thanks to Reddit and chose them over other sites due to the variety of flowers available. I highly, highly recommend doing the complimentary consultation; Chloe recommended options that I hadn't found in my own search of the site ... and made sure I stayed within our budget. To prepare, we purchased the Floral Crown Kit, ribbon, pins, 8 non-BPA buckets from Home Depot, and some glass vases from the Dollar Tree (for the anemones and ranunculus that are too short for buckets). Our delivery was split over two days as we went with the recommended time frames, but it worked out perfectly. On both delivery days, we just focused on getting all of the flowers cut and hydrated and happy. The day before the wedding, we finished the de-thorning/de-leafing process and started to put them in the groupings that I liked for each bouquet. It wasn't until the morning of the wedding that we did the actual wrapping of the bouquets and final cuts. I also put together our floral arch that morning, but it came together quickly because I opted to glue flowers to a pre-made garland. Honestly, the entire process from delivery to set-up was so simple and took way less time than I was anticipating. My vision perfectly came together and when I look at pictures, I feel a bit of pride over the fact that I did all of that! I'm not a DIY person at all so I was nervous about how it would turn out, but now I wouldn't change a thing. Not only did we save a crap ton of money, but every flower was beautiful and helped make our day perfect. Show more

These were a last minute pick and I am SO GLAD I went with them. As other reviews have mentioned, when you peel off the greenish/tan guard petals you are left with the most beautiful mauve rose. There were so many of these that we put them everywhere: bouquets, bud vases, the arch, and even in the getting ready house as a pretty backdrop for detail pictures.

I feel like carnations have a bad reputation but these will change anybody's mind. They are the perfect dusty shade and they are so hearty. When they arrived they were pretty tightly closed and I was nervous, but I had no reason to be because they opened up and lasted way past the wedding day. All of them were usable, so we used them in every bouquet, bud vase, the arch, cake, and even the dads' boutonnieres. Highly recommend.

Just like with the silver dollar eucalyptus, I ordered a bunch of this as I planned to use it in literally everything and yet had bunches left over. The seeds add really amazing texture to bouquets and boutonnieres. The only tiny problem was that because so many bunches were stuffed in to the shipping box, some leaves were damaged. I had to really pick and choose which bunches to work with, but because there was so much, it wasn't an issue.

DAHLIAS. These were "my" flower that I only wanted for my bouquet. These were absolutely beautiful and opened up perfectly in time for the wedding. I thought that 20 stems would be just enough, but it turns out multiple flowers come on each stem and we had so. many. dahlias. I was able to use some on the arch and the cake and even had some left over. I'm in the process of pressing some of these and I know they're going to look just gorgeous.

Oh my did I love these bahlias. They perfectly mirrored the dahlias in my own bouquet. They were so sturdy and did not need a lot of TLC over the days leading to the wedding. The color was so rich and really perfect to use in our bud vases and arch.

Seeded Eucalyptus Garland ( 5 Foot Garland )

Used for: Other

I really wanted a floral arch but was afraid of my own skills creating a base that would stay together. Instead, I decided to go with the pre-made garland and just use floral glue to put the flowers on. EASIEST FLORAL ARCH EVER. The seeded garland was beautiful, adding texture and beautiful color. It was so easy to work with and it all honestly came together within 15 minutes. My dad used dark zip ties to put it on the wooden arch and that worked like a charm. Highly recommend if this is the style you're going for.

Blushing Button Garden Rose ( 36 Garden Roses )

Used for: Bridal Bouquet, Bridesmaid's Bouquets , Boutonnieres, Other

Another last minute add that I'm so happy we went with! These garden roses are so fluffy and opened up beautifully. They were pretty thorny, but very easy to clean up. Another perfect pink for our bouquets and decorations.

This was the perfect toolkit for us. The floral food (along with the packets that came with some of the flowers) lasted us through the three day prep and wedding day. We had SO MUCH tape left over I could make bouquets for six more weddings. I highly recommend having the shears to cut through the bigger stems. The floral glue was ridiculously sticky (I recommend wearing gloves) but meant that our flowers were securely attached to the arch. I didn't really use the wire (only on a few of the delicate flowers) but I'm glad we had it just in case.

First of all, I have to thank the consultant Chloe for recommending this package, as we basically got scabiosa for free (we had originally planned to order ranunculus and anemones separately). But lordy, when they say these are delicate, they mean they are delicate. The scabiosa were a bit stuffed in their packaging, which meant a lot of the petals were falling off from the get-go. The anemones were very finicky, going between opening up flat and closing right back up. The stems on the anemones and ranunculus were short and tubed, meaning it was very easy to snap them. But we worked with them because they are all SO BEAUTIFUL. We had the blackberry scabiosa, hint of blush anemones, and burgundy wine ranunculus. They brought so much dimension to our primarily pink/wine floral pieces. TLDR: be prepared to not be able to use all of them because they're fragile and to be gentle with them, but definitely don't skip them.

Wow did this smell amazing! As soon as we opened the box all of us in the room were in heaven. I ordered a TON of this as I planned to use it in all of the bouquets and boutonnieres and centerpieces, but even still there was a ton left over. Don't underestimate how much comes in a bunch!
